Paul and more!
My friend and semi-relation by marriage, Paul Jacobsen is famous in fetal form. He and his cohort of minstrel friends will be rockin’ the Fort. This is a must attend and bring $10 cash per artist for CD event! Ignore me and you’ll be running to an ATM. Check it!
An email I received…
March Shows are becoming a fact around here. Case in point…
On Friday March 3rd @ 7:30pm at Fort Douglas Theater (245 South Fort Douglas Boulevard in Salt Lake—go east past the Huntsman Center and you’re on the right track.) I’ll be playing some songs in what I hope will kickstart some more frequent UT shows.
It’s gonna be songwriters-in-the-round (that intimate, infinitely better, more authentic older sibling of Faux-Sensitive Dudes Warbling Emo Songs Around The Campfire To Score Chicks) Joining me will be:
- Ryan Tanner (of local alt-country desperadoes Atherton). You know this guy!
- Joshua James (a rootsy sum’b from Nebraska). A newcomer to the family.
- Trevor Price (think the early US Colonies–torn between allegiance to Brit Rock and New Americana). He played at our Tsunami Benefit, this time last year. All are really great. All for $5. Chump change.
Be there early for best seats. Oh, and those friends you’ve been telling how great I am? They can come too. Hope to see you there. (ps. there’s a new song on PaulJacobsen.com)

Other March facts:
- March is Michael Penn’s first but not best album. (That would be Resigned.)
- Holly was born in March. So was my brother Ben and a whole holy host of friends who probably feel snubbed to not have been namedropped. Sorry?
- March of The Penguins was one of 27 movies narrated by Morgan Freeman in the last decade.
- Marching Bands of Manhattan was the first but not best song on Death Cab For Cutie’s latest but not best album.
- March 7th is National Wag Day in Australia. I don’t know what that means either, but I assume it has something to do with waltzing matildas and/or Paul Hogan’s secret role in the death of Bon Scott.
- I once lived with a guy who said that Marching Band was the hardest, most physically demanding sport in the world.
If you miss this I will be profoundly disappointed in you, and your dedication to music, life, and your new MLM job.
